CaixaBank Director defames client for his own failure to act

After being instructed to refund incorrect commissions or to close a client’s account, CaixaBank director Iván Masip Bes, of the El Clot offices in Barcelona, failed to do either. Instead he chose to ignore his client’s emails, phone calls and voice messages. Very dissatisfied, the client indicated again the account should be closed and, save for the amount to cover the last month’s VISA charge, transferred funds to another bank.

CaixaBank director Masip continued to do nothing and actively blocked the client’s attempt to close his own account (by asking the BBVA bank to do it for him). Even they were unable.

Then of course came the next series of unwarranted commissions. Commissions on an account which should long have been closed - if Masip had done as instructed and further commissions for VISA cards which, although unrequested, CaixaBank was (for the very first time ever) suddenly able to send to the client’s home address. CaixaBank had never managed that before - always insisting that the client retrieved new VISA cards from their offices. Now, with the account “closed”, they sent out a new card.

The client destroyed the unsolicited and non-activated card. Director Masip showed his true colours, character and his way of representing CaixaBank’s ideals and ethics… He reported the client as a bad debtor so that debt collection companies have since bombarded him with calls and messages.

Let’s not forget, Director Masip knew perfectly well all along that the client was not a bad debtor and never had been. Never. But, to cover his own failure to act as requested, he set the dogs on his own client. Is this the type of values we can expect from CaixaBank? Truly disgraceful behaviour!
